M. Bitton's revert of 11 March 2023‎

To quote that user: "A source from 1838 is ridiculously old compared to what we already have".

First, more recent sources aren't automatically better than older ones. Secondly "The New Encyclopedia of Islam" by Cyril Glasse is barely on-topic at all and briefly mentions the battle in one sentence, while the [1838 source] is specifically about military history and describes the Battle of Macta in detail in several paragraphs. I shall add that Abel Hugo is a historian, while Cyril Glasse has no such qualification.

The user M.Bitton doesn't get to single-handedly decide which sources are good and which sources aren't, and he should try to reach a consensus on the talk page before he unilaterally decides to remove sources added by other users because they do not please him. 92.150.135.230 (talk) 03:05, 14 March 2023 (UTC)[reply]
