Question about sentence

See: On March 5, after the capture of the Bucha-Hostomel line by Russian forces, units of the 76th Guards Air Assault Division under Sergey Chubarykin and the 98th Guards Airborne Division were sent to cross the Irpin River near the village of Moshchun.11112

Reading [1], it places Chubarykin in command of the 76th Guards Airborne Assault Division at the start of the invasion (24 Feb 22). However, I am not seeing that it refers to his command of the division subsequently and or at Moshchun. I don't see that he is mentioned in the other two sources. Source [11] places the 76th and 98th divisions at Moshchun but I am not seeing that it reports when either joined the battle. I am not seeing that the other two sources report this either. I am not seeing that any of the sources refer to 5 March. In source [12], I see Russian scouts entering Moshchun on 27 Feb and The shelling and fighting along the Irpin continued for days. On the morning of March 6, Russian troops finally began to force their way across the river in numbers.

I acknowledge that I might have missed something and would appreciate help in pointing this out where I have. Cinderella157 (talk) 00:38, 5 August 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Question about sentence - 2

Regarding On March 5, a small number of Russian special forces entered and occupied the northwestern part of Moshchun.11

The source cited appears to be all about Bucha. I don't see Moshchun mentioned and how the cited source supports the sentence? Cinderella157 (talk) 10:46, 12 August 2023 (UTC)[reply]

In the infobox, please change the number of casualties (section "Casualties and losses") of the Ukrainian side from "55" to "84". The "55" number is based on a tweet from the soldier on March 11, 2023[1]. 10 days later (March 21, 2023) since that tweet a memorial ceremony in Moshchun was held, where the names of the dead 84 Ukrainian soldiers were mentioned[2]. Moreover, Ukrainian Wikipedia has a separate article listing the names of all these 84 soldiers. Ivgemytlig (talk) 11:47, 30 January 2024 (UTC)[reply]

The tweet is not a
WP:RS and is definitely out. The Youtube video is a primary source for limited usage. Also, I am not in a position to verify the content. Neither would belong in an infobox. There are also issues with the report of Russian losses: Journalist Roman Tsymbalyuk Ukrainian wrote about this on Facebook. "Units of the 155th Separate Marine Brigade (Vladivostok) were almost completely destroyed by the Armed Forces of Ukraine. Reportedly, the losses amounted to about 600 servicemen killed and the same number wounded. At the same time, the personnel of the brigade do not have access to food and housing". We can assume that the report in LB.au is correctly attributed and accurately reproduced but there is no editorial oversight on the fb post. It is a primary source. I have removed both. Thank you. Yes, I believe it's a right call to remove both. I didn't like the idea of citing a YouTube video either, that's why I tried to find any articles mentioning this exact number, but couldn't. It seems, someone simply manually calculated them. At this point, I guess we just should wait until more reliable and easier for verification materials appear. Ivgemytlig (talk) 08:53, 31 January 2024 (UTC)[reply]
