@LeoFrank: Is Sambre Airport the official name? - Fylindfotberserk (talk) 15:17, 25 January 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Belagavi Airport is the Official name Change this ASAP. NaveenchandraH9 (talk) 17:24, 25 January 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Belagavi is not the
WP:COMMONNAME, it depends on the name of the city article. It would be Belgaum airport as per COMMONNAME, since it has most number of hits. - Fylindfotberserk (talk) 17:30, 25 January 2021 (UTC)[reply

Belagaavi AirportBelagavi Airport – Correct spelling is "Belagavi". Johnj1995 (talk) 01:11, 25 September 2021 (UTC)[reply

  • @Johnj1995 and Asukite: queried move request Anthony Appleyard (talk) 08:39, 25 September 2021 (UTC)[reply]
  • I'm not actually sure if Belagavi is the
    the discussion on the talk page – I see three different names being brought up, Belgaum, Sambre and Belagavi. The article doesn't even use Belagavi consistently, and the sources in the page seem to center on Belgaum. Google trends has no data, and I'm having trouble finding news articles using "Belagavi Airport" as a search term, but if there are many out there, that would certainly help. ASUKITE 04:19, 25 September 2021 (UTC)[reply
    ]
  • @Asukite: The page name could also be reverted to Belgaum Airport, which was the original name of the article. Regardless of which name is used, "Belagaavi" appears to be a typo. Johnj1995 (talk) 04:32, 25 September 2021 (UTC)[reply]
  • That seems sensible. It's possible Belagaavi was used because the editor who moved it tried creating Belagavi and couldn't move the original article anymore as the title was taken. I'll leave this up for a bit to make sure there are no objections, and then move it back to Belgaum, which is at least sourced for now. ASUKITE 04:37, 25 September 2021 (UTC)[reply]
  • I've struck that last part out. Seems I waited too long, as I've now woken up to an RM being here, so I'll leave the title alone while this runs its course. ASUKITE 12:42, 25 September 2021 (UTC)[reply]

  • Support move to Belagavi Airport as it appears to be the name used by the Indian Airports Authority https://www.aai.aero/en/airports/belgaum although that confusingly still mention Belgaum and is listed as such on the websites Index of airports, I presume it has been renamed recently. Images of the airport terminal building show the English name as Belagavi Airport. MilborneOne (talk) 13:24, 25 September 2021 (UTC)[reply]

  • Leaning toward Belgaum Airport, since the article about the city is at Belgaum and the move to the current name was just a few days ago and was an undiscussed move. — BarrelProof (talk) 23:23, 25 September 2021 (UTC)[reply]
