I did a bunch of things here. First off, I tried to put some substance into the lead, and took out the "tooshort" box. If anyone thinks it's still too short, let me know and/or add more to it. I also added some stuff to the body, including his writing "A Lover's Question", the source of his name, and some more chart stuff. More details/cites welcome. Finally, I cleaned up the links--there were a lot of titles that led to completely irrelevant articles (e.g. "Today", "Revenge"). I only left in links where the article was relevant, or red links where there seems a legit hope that there might eventually be an article. In fact, I intend to write an article on "It's Just A Matter Of Time" sometime soon; this is way too important a song not to have an entry here. Anyone with relevant facts/citations, please post here or on my talk page and I'll include them.

If someone wants to be helpful and correct the capitalization in the chart box, that would be helpful. I'm just too tired at the moment. B^)

Adding to what I said above, it turns out there is an article for "It's Just A Matter Of Time" after all; the link has been corrected. I also added a bunch of material to that page.

I tried to create a category for Benton songs, but it doesn't seem to have worked. If anyone has more expertise than I, please do so.

Brook Benton Goldmine Article - "Let Me Sing and I'm Happy"

Hi,

My name is Bill Bronk. I wrote an article about Brook Benton which was published by Goldmine Magazine on 27 September 2016. The article is extensive and covers his bio, chart activity, singing style, song-writing prowess, reviews by various music writers and the lack of recognition for Benton by the powers that be in the music industry.

Your coverage of Benton is excellent. Parts of my article, I believe, could be used to broaden that coverage. Or the article could be used as a reference tool by fans or researchers. Here's the goldminemag.com link: http://www.goldminemag.com/article/brook-benton-let-sing-im-happy.

I hope my article can be used to give the public a more enhanced picture of Brook Benton... and more recognition for a truly great singer, songwriter and performer.

Thanks, Bill Bronk 100.4.148.37 (talk) 22:39, 16 November 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Just learned his name

Less than 20 years ago, Erika De Bonis, of Latina south of Rome, sung a song called «I dont know». I read that one of the lyricists was called Brook Benton. Is this the same Brook Benton in this article? --2001:4644:DC5B:0:3CBF:18A6:DE4D:4BA7 (talk) 00:11, 12 June 2022 (UTC)[reply]

He died 34 years ago so the answer is no. 99.165.88.9 (talk) 00:26, 12 June 2022 (UTC)[reply]

The gospel truth

This biography is missing important information of Brook’s last years on earth and the release of the album “the gospel truth “ in 1971! 41.116.60.246 (talk) 21:07, 28 January 2023 (UTC)[reply]
