There is a very, very interesting history of the facility and its impact on Calgary.

• Art and Sculpture

The bronze statue of Gen. James Wolfe was purchased in 1966 by Eric_Harvie and erected at the Centennial Planetarium in 1967. On Harvie's request, it was placed facing city hall, in a symbolic gesture to keep watch on city hall.

The Zeiss projector was replaced in 1996, with the Star Chamber being revamped to use a Digi-Star projector. Subsequently the Zeiss was sold to the Vancouver Planetarium for parts.

On August 8th, 1979, Robert Fripp recorded parts of the track Under Heavy Manners from his album The League of Gentlemen at the Calgary Planetarium. It would be nice to see mention of that in the article. 2001:56A:700F:2500:882D:84D4:32F5:FCE7 (talk) 05:24, 7 June 2017 (UTC)[reply]
