No, most likely not. CHICAGO and CHISAGO are two completely different names derived from two different languages: "Chisago" is short for "Ki-chi-saga-igun" (or "Gichi-zaaga'igan" in the contemporary spelling) in the Ojibwe language. The name "Chicago" is derived from a French rendering of the Native American word shikaakwa, translated as "wild onion" or "wild garlic", from the Miami-Illinois language.[reply]
