The first line states that he confessed to murdering 2 children (and 9 youths)... officially he killed 10 children and one person who was officially an adult according to Canadian law. In virtually every country in the world a child is someone under the age of 18 and there fore the article should state 10 children and one adult! I don't understand why this garbled use of language has gone unchecked for so long.

"Youth" is NOT a good word to use because it is ambiguous and inaccurate. "Child" just means someone under the age of 18 so it is simple and unambiguous. I am aware of the fact that different countries have different laws with reference to what age is officially considered adulthood but most say 18. The article should say that "...he confessed to the murder of 10 children and one person of 18 years of age..."
