How could David Gans correspondence with Johannes Müller, if the latter died in 1476 — for 65 years before the birth of David? ^{78.29.37.24 (talk) 14:04, 24 April 2012 (UTC)}[reply]

The Magen David appeared on his tombstone because that was the title of one of his seforim, as mentioned later in the article. The idea that Gans' tombstone was selected to sponsor Jewish community symbolism is utterly ridiculous. Par for the course for journalism (the cited and now deleted source).

A few other Magen Davids appear at that cemetery. On people named "David". It's like the lions there that appear on the tombstone of people named "Yehuda". 73.81.124.156 (talk) 18:03, 15 February 2021 (UTC)[reply]
