June 2005

I am removing the "Kt" from his full name since according to the Knight Bachelor page this is incorect. It will now read Sir David Jason OBE. Dowew 01:35, 11 Jun 2005 (UTC)

Should not "Sir" also be removed or the correct name be substuted? The knighthood was conferred on David White who then became Sir David White OBE. David Jason is a professional name used by the actor Sir David White and not a name used by HM The Queen when she bestowed the honour. Is it not a breach of etiquette to refer to him this way?MoonRaker 01:41, 3 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Points of view

I agree David Jason is "highly regarded" and "admired" (he's my favourite by far!), but isn't this a point of view (despite it probably being everyone's!)?

Not really. To say that he's a great actor would be PoV, but I don't think anyone can really dispute that he's "highly regarded" by most people, and admired by many. SRHCFC 16:58, 1 September 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Copyvio

This entire page is lifted from www.davidjason.co.uk, it should be referenced and possibly better researched. I am sure that as a knight he deserves better.

Erm . . that web address (www.davidjason.co.uk) is giving “server cannot be found”. So maybe this edit was a wind-up?

Can someone confirm whether David Jason makes a very brief cameo appearance as a newspaper salesman in the movie "The War Lover" starring Steve McQueen & Robert Wagner? The likeness is remarkable. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 210.55.22.210 (talk) 02:38, 7 March 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Photo

This article needs a new photo.

yeah, one with him as Del Boy, as it's his most well kown character. fre_k

I think more people today probably know him as Jack Frost... --dllu 00:14, 1 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]
why not both? Halfang 02:00, 9 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]

No! Del Boy is the kiddy. Jack Frost is a deadly dull English version of "Taggart". Pop Larkin rates higher than Frost.92.30.231.5 (talk) 22:15, 22 January 2011 (UTC) —Preceding unsigned comment added by 92.30.231.5 (talk) 22:06, 22 January 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Birth name

his birth name in the info box contradicts the article. I'm going to assume the article is correct.(Black Dalek 11:10, 12 April 2007 (UTC)).[reply]

Awards/nominations

Surely it should say something along the lines of 'A Touch of Frost' and 'Only Fools and Horses' have had roughly the same number of nominations and wins? Which, according to the table, is true. This would be opposed to saying that OFaHs has had more, with AToF only having a few, which, according to the table, is not true. 92.2.29.149 (talk) 18:52, 5 June 2010 (UTC)[reply]

I removed a minor bit of vandalism from this page. However, it appears to be the second time today that the page has been vandalized in this manner, both implying that he is homosexual, and both from unidentified IP addresses. Therefore, I am requesting Semi-protected status, per

The intro

I know Sir David is a popular star but isn't the introduction a bit long? Some of the information would be better in the article itself. (92.4.98.99 (talk) 17:40, 6 January 2011 (UTC))[reply]

Sources, sources

Anyone got a copy of our man’s (2013) autobiography, David Jason: My Life (Random House)? And fancy checking out a couple of things there?

The TV.com piece (?2012; Hughes, Heather. "David Jason". TV.com. Retrieved 13 June 2012.) seems not a

reliable source
- assuming we’re right to say it’s an "urban myth" tht "he chose his stage surname, Jason, as a tribute to his twin brother who died at birth," and tht "David Jason himself has denied this." (TV.com simply says, under Trivia, "David chose his stage surname, Jason, as a tribute to his twin brother who died at birth.")

What’s really daft is tht (at present) our article cites the TV.com piece as source for saying it’s an urban myth. (Our statement tht "David Jason himself has denied" the story has no citation.)

So a bit of sorting out seems needed. Presumably the autobiography is the place to look.

Cleaning CN tag on "David Jason Trust"

A search for "David Jason Trust" yields mostly listicles that seem to have copied the charity name from this Wiki article. The oldest result is a blog post from 2011 which does not cite a source. The Wales Online article from 2013 cited in this Wiki entry is all about the event and aftermath which allegedly inspired the creation of the charity, and it makes no mention of the David Jason Trust or any charity. In light of all this, as well as age of this tag (at least 9 years), and the BLP status of this article, I am removing the mention of the charity from the article. Please restore it if you have found a source for this charity's existence! TomFitz77 (talk) 07:30, 25 March 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Executive producer

This role (*) gets a brief mention in the introduction but no detail in the main part of the article.

(*) I seem to recall another, very substantial, senior role in the television world, but can not remember what it was. 86.184.212.60 (talk) 03:30, 17 February 2022 (UTC)[reply]
