David Klingler was a former number 1 draft pick of the Cincinnati Bengals. He was born in 2/17/1969 and played college football at the University of Houston. In 1990 David finished 5th in the Heisman voting and 5th overall in passer rating. David had little success in the NFL playing 4 years for the Cincinnati Bengals before being cut. He went on to play two years with Oakland Raiders as a backup, seeing almost no playing time.
After leaving the NFL, Klingler found Jesus and earned his Master's in Theology from the Dallas Theological Seminary.
Greenbay
The article says "was cut and didnt play." This should be shortened to "was cut." Of course he didnt play. Thats what being cut means. They dont want you playing on the team. If you're cut, you're not going to play. You've been fired. 206.192.35.125 (talk) 12:43, 20 October 2016 (UTC)[reply]
Bust
It is important that some rated Klingler’s NFL career a bust. This defines his athletic career and not his academic career in particular, nor his notoriety in general. Therefore I suggest moving the following text into the particular NFL section and out of the general introduction: “He was drafted by the Cincinnati Bengals after a record-setting career at the University of Houston, but is considered a bust for his lackluster NFL career. In 2007, Klingler was listed at #10 on the NFL Network's ‘Top 10 Draft Busts’ list.”
