This is probably correct but a bit confusing: Russian mother and father, but a Jewish grandfather from Poland. Any explanation ? --Lysytalk 22:06, 16 June 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Inconsistencies? A science editor who has no understanding of science?

He attended the Dragon School in Oxford, Eton College, then read Geography at Durham University (Hatfield College), gaining a BA.

So he went to university to study geography at age 12? Dragon School is a preparatory school for toddlers to small children. It's like replacing your high school and college with the daycare centre you went to. Given that he has a BA in geography and is somehow a 'science editor' (as though we had any less reason to lose all faith in mainstream media and the BBC as a whole) I suppose it stands to reason that his daycare centre is the highlight of his academic career - but perhaps there's something out there a little more relevant? 124.190.227.150 (talk) 17:08, 29 December 2016 (UTC)[reply]

He went from Dragon School to Eton and then he went to Durham. I'm not saying I know these things to be true, I'm just reporting how I understand what's written. I, too, would like to know what qualifies him to be a science editor. But keep in mind that the BBC's attitude towards science is one of utter contempt. See, if you need evidence, The Infinite Monkey Cage. 86.132.222.57 (talk) 01:34, 29 June 2017 (UTC)[reply]
