Inspired by the rebellious chaabi music of the Maghreb?
The source article from Al Jazeera says, "The ishumar also drew inspiration from the rebellious chaabi music of the Maghreb", but does not say, in which way. On the one hand, Chaabi means quite a different type of music in Algeria, as opposed to Morocco. And I don't think that "rebellious" is a suitable description of Algerian chaabi music. How this could have inspired Desert blues, does not become clear and seems more than doubtful to me. Munfarid1 (talk) 20:48, 7 April 2021 (UTC)[reply]
