Is the contemporary Koine pronounciation guide completely valid? [djoˈny.sjos ho ˈtʰraks]? Personally I say [djoˈny.si.os ho ˈtʰraks], the first i becomes a j but not the second Δγιο-νύ-σι-ος. Might be personal idiosyncracy, just a note.

Thanks for that correction. I would elide the koine guide. Average readers will twig how to pronounce Dionysius Thrax. It's just clutter.

By the way, I put 'perhaps' in the substitutive line (with new source) because that evidently counts D.X's treatise to the 2nd century BCE, whereas, if Di Benedetto et al., are correct, the dating down to the 14th century (3-4 cent CE onwards would be, precisely, a millennium.Nishidani (talk) 13:38, 11 March 2019 (UTC)[reply]
