Edit request

NPF-webmaster (talk) 09:33, 5 February 2016 (UTC)[reply]

That template is for requests of specific edits ("change X into Y, remove Z, add W to paragraph 3" or something like that). What edit do you think should be made? Huon (talk) 10:57, 5 February 2016 (UTC)[reply]
That's precisely the problem: to me, the article is fairly balanced. However, if you see the edit history, you will see that user Ebaybe has done major edits to my contribution. Which is ok, but now I'd like to have the article comply with W's policies so that the alert tags can be removed. Please help in applying any changes necessary to achieve this goal. If not you, then please tell me exactly how to go about doing it myself. Thanks! — Preceding unsigned comment added by NPF-webmaster (talkcontribs) 14:14, 5 February 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Rework

I can see that a lot of work has gone into this article, but:

  • Early Life - no references at all. Section should be removed or have references added
  • Designs - consists entirely of quotes by the subject of the article. Regardless of the lack of third party judgement on the importance of these collections, at some point, the reasonable limit on the number of quotes that can be pulled a single copyrighted book is exceeded. Section should be significantly cut back.
  • Philanthropy- the only source given is the "about us" section of the philanthropic foundation itself. Section needs third party references

Agreed. The article currently reads like a fanpage/promotional ad for Peretti. I did some editing to tone that down, but it definitely can use more work. Also, User:NPF-webmaster, a significant editor of the article admits on their userpage that they are the webmaster for The Nando and Elsa Peretti Foundation, which is an obvious conflict of interest. So several issues are needing addressing. Thank you. --Ebyabe talk - Attract and Repel ‖ 23:27, 9 February 2016 (UTC)[reply]

COI

In reply to Ebyabe's use of the word "admits" in the sentence above, I was well aware of the COI issue. In fact, I made it clear from the start who I was and the why I was making these edits. I did not need to "admit" anything: from the start I informed all WP users on who I was. It may seem like a minor issue but it is not. Being close to the subject matter is not an issue per se; quite the contrary it may be regarded as a benefit. The point is to achieve a neutral encyclopedia tone and back the facts with appropriate references. References will be provided as soon as possible. Regarding the tone, the additions I made may have been too celebratory, but they were a bona fide attempt to improve the previous version. Thank you for any help you can provide in making this page fully compliant to WP's standards.NPF-webmaster (talk) 10:35, 26 February 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Hi, NPF-webmaster. Can you fill in some blanks on this article?

  1. What is the true name of where she went to school?
The school listed does not show up online. here it is, very poor webdesign! http://www.istitutocaterinavolpicelli.it/ NPF-webmaster (talk) 10:40, 4 April 2016 (UTC)[reply]
  2. Can you upload a properly licensed image of her to the Commons?
Working on it, will do ASAP NPF-webmaster (talk) 10:40, 4 April 2016 (UTC)[reply]
  3. How about properly licensed images of her work?
Same here, we are working especially with Tiffany's to receive CC0s or similar on her best work...stay posted! Thanks Checkingfax, and your edit on that sentence did hit the sweet spot, much better now! NPF-webmaster (talk) 10:40, 4 April 2016 (UTC)[reply]
Hello
Checkingfax, the profile photo was chosen specifically by Ms Peretti. The author Ms Polakov provided Ms Peretti with a proper license. The file was uploaded to wikipedia commons following the correct procedure. And yet it was deleted. There shall be no further actions on the part of Ms Peretti regarding this issue. It is truly unfortunate that Wikipedia users are unable to benefit from quality material such as this photo.NPF-webmaster (talk) 09:06, 3 November 2016 (UTC)[reply

Elsa Peretti's photo deletion request

Hello fellow Wikipedians, On behalf of the Nando and Elsa Peretti Foundation, owner of the rights for the photo of Elsa Peretti taken by Ms Carola Polakov and used on Elsa Peretti's profile pages, please advise as to how to delete the photo, since it is protected by copyright and not free. Also, please advise as to how to remove the photo on all language versions of her page. Thank you very much in advance for your assistance.--NPF-webmaster (talk) 12:33, 16 June 2021 (UTC)[reply]

NPF-webmaster, thank you for bringing this to our attention and apologies for the inconvenience. I have initiated a deletion process here, which you are welcome to comment on. Once complete it will delete all of the associated uses of the Commons file, which you can see here.
While you are here, by chance is there a different file the Foundation would prefer to have represent her and could grant access to? I understand if not and there is no obligation; but we would certainly be grateful for the generosity if it were possible. Thanks very much, Innisfree987 (talk) 15:43, 16 June 2021 (UTC)[reply]
Innisfree987, thank you for your assistance. Unfortunately at the moment the Foundation does not wish to publish any picture of Ms Peretti on Wikipedia. Thank you again for your help and undertanding on this issue. --NPF-webmaster (talk) 07:36, 17 June 2021 (UTC)[reply]
