Industry Organization?

From the article as it is currently written, it's not clear to me that this was indeed a consumer rights organization, but rather an industry lobby organization that cannily gets its funding from consumers in exchange for discounts. All of their positions appear to be things that will help the industry, and the founder's history as an industry lobbyist. An effort should be made to find sources critical of the ECA's positioning, so that this article doesn't just come off as a press release.

Also, it doesn't appear to be operating anymore. Has not been in the news since 2014, and their website is badly broken. Handpigdad (talk) 07:30, 26 September 2023 (UTC)[reply]

according to their filing with the IRS https://apps.irs.gov/pub/epostcard/cor/205490032_201712_990EO_2019030816161772.pdf , the organization only reported 196$ in revenue from 2017, down from ~2000 the year before.
2$ in 2018 https://apps.irs.gov/pub/epostcard/cor/205490032_201812_990EO_2020013017084112.pdf.
It's pretty safe to say they aren't meaningfully operating anymore. Handpigdad (talk) 07:43, 26 September 2023 (UTC)[reply]
