olympic gymnast?

There reads: a rhythmic gymnast for the U.S. Olympic Team
For the Olympic team? I could not find any info about her being in the Olympics. What else could mean "for the U.S. Olympic Team"? To me, "Olympic team" is/are the one(s) who compete in the Games. 85.76.80.86 (talk) 02:27, 31 January 2016 (UTC)[reply]

I can find no record of Eugenia Yuan as a member of the US Olympic rhythmic gymnastics team. However, in a 1986 article from the LA Times, Yuan's coach, Alla Svirsky, mentions her as of one of several gymnasts with a shot at the 1988 team in Seoul [1]. She does not appear to have been on that team, though (at least, I can't find mention of her.) Another issue: the LA Times notes that Yuan was 15 in 1986. If this is correct, her birthdate would be 1971, not 1976 as cited in Wikipedia. — Preceding unsigned comment added by MaBogash (talkcontribs) 18:45, 23 July 2018 (UTC)[reply]
