The book

The book quoted in reference #4 was never published per her obituary. In 1972, a New York publisher announced that he would issue a book by Domergue called My Life with Howard Hughes, stating in Variety that "this will be the first time one of his ladies really talked about the intimate relationship she had". The book never appeared, and Domergue said two years ago:

I don't talk much about Howard Hughes. I think it quite sad that it's the negative side of someone's life that is so interesting to the public and not the fact that he was one of the great contributors to aeronautics in this country since the beginning of the century. All my memories of Howard are good ones.

Car Incident

Is their any factual basis to the scene in The Aviator where Faith follows Howard Hughes and Ava Gardner to a restaurant, then hits their car? --76.217.58.123 (talk) 07:39, 2 December 2010 (UTC)--76.217.58.123 (talk) 07:39, 2 December 2010 (UTC)--76.217.58.123 (talk) 07:39, 2 December 2010 (UTC)[reply]

There is, according to text in Google Books from Ava Gardner: Love Is Nothing By Lee Server, but the first review is disparaging about the fact checking. It appears that this incident was not the creation of the screenwriters of the movie, which is what I wondered. It may or may not have been the creation by some tabloid of the day. -71.179.126.205 (talk) 16:45, 3 April 2011 (UTC)[reply]
I have the book "Love is Nothing" and there are no direct points to the story in the index. The index is not in chron order (or any order, for that matter), but most of his sources are scandal magazines, which, in their time, were known to be half truths if not downright lies.Zabadu (talk) 03:59, 26 December 2012 (UTC)[reply]

African American

She should be labeled as African-American. She definitely looks non-white. Her being from New Orleans, I think the most logical assumption would be she has black blood in her family line. I think it's called Créole? Her bosom and behind are way oversized for a white woman, but common in Africa, plus there is a certain look on her face, that is distinctly African. She reminds me of Gloria Foster (the black Oracle from the "Matrix" films). 79.193.111.234 (talk) 10:28, 25 August 2015 (UTC) I think it's quite insulting to call her a lardass[reply]
