The common name for this page should be "Gabriella Coleman" which is the name that Biella goes by professionally. While evidence attests to her first name actually being Enid this is not used on any official pages or articles about her. Therefore I propose this page is moved to "Gabriella Coleman". • I re-checked the policy and it seemed pretty clear, so I moved it. Karora 01:16, 17 February 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Notabilty

I don't see how notability criteria as per WP:ACADEMIC are not clearly met already in the article.

1) meets the definition of 'academic' per WP:ACADEMIC - endowed chair, full professorship

2) From WP:ACADEMIC

The person is or has been an elected member of a highly selective and prestigious scholarly society or association (e.g. a National Academy of Sciences or the Royal Society) or a Fellow of a major scholarly society for which that is a highly selective honor (e.g. the IEEE).

From the artile and cited:

Coleman held positions including a postdoctoral fellowship at the Center for Cultural Analysis, Rutgers University and the Izaak Walton Killam Memorial Postdoctoral Fellowship, Program in Science, Technology & Society, University of Alberta[1] before being appointed assistant professor of media, culture and communication at New York University in September 2007.[3]

During 2010-2011 Coleman spent some time working at the Institute for Advanced Study in Princeton as the recipient of the "2010–11 Ginny and Robert Loughlin Founders’ Circle Member in the School of Social Science" [4]

3) From WP:ACADEMIC

The person holds or has held a named chair appointment or "Distinguished Professor" appointment at a major institution of higher education and research (or an equivalent position in countries where named chairs are uncommon).

From the article and cited:

She currently holds the Wolfe Chair in Scientific & Technological Literacy at McGill University, Montreal, Quebec, Canada.

Seeing as notability is clearly established, I'm removing the template now. --Morpethlol (talk) 12:49, 16 March 2012 (UTC)[reply]
