63 game unbeaten streak

I've seen a list of the ten longest unbeaten college football streaks in a sports almanac from about ten years ago that confirms Washington's 63 game unbeaten streak as being the longest . . . if I still had the almanac, I'd have used that reference as a citation. I would think that current versions of the sports almanac still have a listing of the top unbeaten streaks, so perhaps someone else can replace the link reference with a book citation. At any rate, here's a list of the top five culled from a Google Groups posting (it does jibe with my recollection):

School Years No. Record Spoiler Score
1907-17 | 63 | 59-0-4 | California | 27-0
1901-05 | 56 | 55-0-1 | Chicago | 2-0
1920-25 | 50 | 46-0-4 | Olympic | 15-0
1953-57 | 48 | 47-0-1 | NotreDame | 7-0
1885-89 | 48 | 47-0-1 | Princeton | 10-0

Update: I attached references in the article to an on-line almanac [1] that includes this list. Myasuda (talk) 20:19, 7 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]
