Wtf is "pledged Chi Phi" supposed to mean?

Surely US-ian hokey[sic] colloquialisms have no place in something with aspirations to be taken seriously as an encyclopaedia.

So called "American English", which has only a passing relationship to actual English, should be translated into standard, intelligible English before being inserted into Wikipedia pages. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 94.118.9.132 (talk) 14:47, 25 October 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Why is some much of this without in line citation?...

Having written a number of wiki articles and suffered thru the "no original" research criticism as well as lack of in-line citation...how come this article has no comments or flags?... Don't get me wrong. I am grateful for the material on this writer... can we bring this up to Wikipedia standards?... I did enjoy the article ... Thanks

I appreciate the intent top make readers aware that the authors books are available but this should in the further reading section and not by commercial reference. I am deleting the commercial reference.

Lastly, the son's (Miles) material should be in a separate Biography of living persons article that conforms to guidelines... Thanks ...
