Flagpole comment--possible confusion between front gate pole and house pole

Can someone check the source on the front-gate flagpole? I'm pretty sure the flag flies there as a matter "of course", i.e. there's always a flag on that flagpole no matter who is inside. I'm also pretty sure changes of flag occur to the one mounted to the top of the official dwelling itself (where I think the protocol follows the British model---GG's flag if GG is around, otherwise no flag at all---I think Newtown residents can easily verify that its not hard to spot a bare flagpole on some days).

I also find it mildly amusing that one even has the opportunity to discuss such trivia. 202.89.152.148 (talk) 09:53, 21 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

The flag flies at the gate (the NZ flag) as a matter of course, it is only the flag on the top of the house that flies when the GG is in residence and on those occasions, it is the GG's flag that flies from the flagpoles on the House. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Nznewsguy (talkcontribs) 23:15, 5 June 2009 (UTC)[reply]
