COI

The tag cannot be on the article until the end of time. The COI discussion went nowhere and that was 8 months ago.Lightburst (talk) 01:28, 10 July 2022 (UTC)[reply]

You had 8 months to edit the article and the COI accusation was never upheld. You are edit warring to keep a wrongly added tag on an article. Lightburst (talk) 01:34, 10 July 2022 (UTC)[reply]
You were the person accused of having a COI at Wikipedia:Conflict of interest/Noticeboard/Archive 180#Koch Marshall Trio & Guy King. Regardless of whether those allegations were true it would be proper, in my opinion, for someone who does not have the appearance of a COI to remove that tag. The article is still packed full of promotional language an unencyclopedic trivia and needs significant work. Why does the article start off with a name drop of a much more famous musician who "inspired" him - surely the lead should highlight what Greg Koch is notable for? Why does the article start with a "he's been playing guitar since the age of 12" "destined to be a guitarist" type story? What is the relevance of him being 6 feet 7 inches tall? What's the point of the massive list of Greg Koch branded musical accessories? What sources support The Koch Marshall Trio is the most successful band that Koch has assembled. or The band has been well received and reviewed. it doesn't appear to be in either of the sources in that paragraph? 192.76.8.85 (talk) 01:59, 10 July 2022 (UTC)[reply]
I've no COI & I removed the tags. GoodDay (talk) 02:01, 10 July 2022 (UTC)[reply]
@GoodDay Fair enough, I will not restore them. 192.76.8.85 (talk) 02:06, 10 July 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Style and Music equipment really need citations to show they are
WP:DUE, but neither is a reason for a COI tag once an editor has denied and the community has not disputed the denial. There are other tags that may be appropriate, the simplest being "citations needed". Slywriter (talk) 02:40, 10 July 2022 (UTC)[reply

@Slywriter FYI, the functionaries/Arbcom have now established that Lightburst is on good personal terms with the folks in Koch Marshall Trio (enough so to raise concerns about neutrality) [1]. 192.76.8.85 (talk) 10:33, 13 July 2022 (UTC)[reply]
