I support the deletions by EEng. AfD agreed to keep the page, not all or most of the current content. Perhaps the better sources from the deleted material could be used to support the statement about people trying this. Thank you to those who have been working on this article. I may also contribute to it at some point when my schedule better permits.

One point that I have read that may likely be borne out by sources, although it will be of course necessary to find a source to cite: It's my understanding that in Western culture, human-animal marriage is regarded as more of a freakish thing because it is automatically associated with sex/ bestiality. In Eastern culture, it is not necessarily regarded in the same light. For example in some cultures people can supposedly marry their spirit animals and it is seen in a spiritual rather than a sexual context. Like I said this needs some good sources before it can be added to the article so I am not adding it now until such sources are found, but it's my understanding there are some sources that likely support (if I find one I will add) - and it may also be a reason why this article looked to some Western eyes like a "tabloid topic". This whole 'essay' is based on one reference? Doesn't make the encyclopedia look good. I might just buy the book.

Okay, read the reference and it states that in one folktale a mythical, fictional someone thought they were marrying an animal who actually turned out to be a human. This might be a notable topic, but no one has proven it yet. Best Regards,

Just to show what a nice guy I am, here are the suggested sources that were proposed in the deletion discussion that might demonstrate the notability of the topic.

• Sadhana Naithani,Folklore Theory in Post-war Germany forget this source, it is already mentioned in the article and it only 'names' the topic.

• Anthropology, vol. 5 (1982)
• Rather than list each one, here's a list to a second page of my Google search showing at least [1]

So since the article lacks a lot of facts and sources, I was thinking it might be appropriate to add examples from folklore and myths. There are plenty of sources on this perticular topic, so why not add some depth?
