Gamma Function Plot

There is something wrong with this gamma function plot. The SDR gamma curve should be defined for a linear light range of 0 to 1, not 0 to 3 as shown in this plot. Hybrid Log Gamma should be defined over a linear light range 12 times as large. The reference at http://downloads.bbc.co.uk/rd/pubs/whp/whp-pdf-files/WHP309.pdf appears to have the same incorrect plot, though with different (and also incorrect) x-axis ranges. Here's an example of a better plot: http://cweb.canon.jp/v-display/lineup/dp-v3010/img/features/hybrid-log-gamma.jpg Balazer (talk) 21:45, 20 January 2018 (UTC)[reply]

The formula for the transfer curve does not match that given in ITU BT.2390-7, p.26, sec. 6.1. https://www.itu.int/dms_pub/itu-r/opb/rep/R-REP-BT.2390-7-2019-PDF-E.pdf — Preceding unsigned comment added by 172.91.176.10 (talk) 11:52, 11 March 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Also, the formula puts reference white at 65.6% rather than 75% per the BBC. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 172.91.176.10 (talk) 17:02, 21 March 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Play-by-play commentary

I've simplified the day-by-day listing of adoption by manufacturers and broadcasters into a set of bullet points. Now HLG is well-established, this could do with summarizing further, to a simple list of adopters and their products, organized by year. -- The Anome (talk) 09:16, 29 May 2020 (UTC)[reply]
