Deletion

Why was the future section deleted? Original research? Vandalism? Needs CITATION. Kau si ll 12:35, 26 July 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Supposed fourth film

I removed the section that said there was a fourth film on the works, there have only been rumors of this in the net on non-reliable sources like Aintitcool, only when FOX announces a fourth film and it appears on IMDb or Comingsoon.net we should have a fourth film listed. --201.173.220.73 (talk) 21:32, 15 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]

There is a few characters that are coming in for Continental Drift that aren't listed at the table that I believe should be added on. They are stated on the same source as Peahces and Scratte. I'll place the example of the correct template and the code below.

Note: Egbert, Yoko and Shelly are the three young t-rex from Ice Age: Dawn of the Dinosaurs, aparently they are appearing back for Ice Age: Continental Drift.

I noticed a few errors in the character template. Jennette McCurdy needs to be added on the Peaches column where the "?" is.

Also, Avril Lavigne is on all three baby dinos, when she only needs to be by Shelly, and Carlos Saldahna needs to be removed from the Shelly column. I'll give a code to make it easier for editors.

Missing 2010 Scrat's Continental Crack-Up

This is missing the short (2 min 40 sec) film from 2010, Scrat's Continental Crack-Up, and the short (2:54) from 2011, Scrat's Continental Crack-Up Part 2. Kid Bugs (talk) 20:33, 17 August 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Scrat's Continental Crack-Up 1 and 2 are not original shorts, but they are two short segments from the fourth Ice Age film. Even the producer, Blue Sky Studios, does not list them under the "Shorts" section: http://blueskystudios.com/films/ There is a something written about the shorts on the Ice Age: Continental Drift article, in the "Marketing" section. --Carniolus (talk) 07:01, 18 August 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Ice Age is not the first franchise to have five theatrical installments there is few

Peter Pan with 8, Case Closed with 20, Pokémon with 18, Doraemon
with 37 and I can go.

Partly done: Peter Pan only had 2 theatrical releases. But you're correct about the others. I will add "American" to that sentence since the source is clearly only talking about American produced animated films.

I've removed the sentence. The requester is correct. This might be the first American computer-animated franchise, but I'm not sure that's remotely notable and is deviating from the source quite a bit. Best just to remove it.

Reception

Shouldn't we talk about the ratings of the Ice Age films? Like: The first Ice Age received a 77% "Certified Fresh" rating on Rotten Tomatoes and 60 reviews on Metacritic. Unfortunately, its follow-ups did not do any good as the original. The Meltdown, Dawn of the Dinosaurs, Continental Drift and Collision Course received 57%, 45%, 37% and 15%, respective "Rotten" ratings on Rotten Tomatoes and 58, 50, 49 and 34 respective reviews on Metacritic. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 2605:6000:CDC7:4C00:85B9:9B09:20A1:EF51 (talk) 08:51, 18 August 2017 (UTC)[reply]

There are a lot of Ice Age video games out there, so are you going to split this article? Longplay Watcher (talk) 08:33, 19 June 2021 (UTC)[reply]

This article includes a list of about 20 video games. That's not so many. Each listing does not include much detail at all. Only a few have any references.
If you could expand the list (30? 50? more?) and include much more detail (metacritic scores and other information for every game?) then the case for splitting off into a separate list article would be more obvious. A split is unlikely to happen unless someone can show there is potential for the standalone article to expand and is volunteering to do the work. -- 109.79.167.172 (talk) 14:46, 1 August 2021 (UTC)[reply]
It has been months since
standalone article. If the article wasn't locked I would have already reverted or deleted the tag.[3] -- 109.79.165.170 (talk) 12:34, 1 September 2021 (UTC)[reply

The tag was removed April 12[4] -- 109.78.199.198 (talk) 00:54, 24 April 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Please remove Ray DeLaurentis and William Schifrin's names from the Crew section. The reason why is because they haven't been confirmed to write the script or the story. 216.154.21.179 (talk) 22:35, 27 October 2021 (UTC)[reply]

The Infobox is not a table of contents

WP:INFOBOX
"Avoid links to sections within the article; the table of contents provides that function."

The Infobox is not a table of contents, and recent changes to the Infobox that removed and replaced the contents with links to within this same page should be reverted. -- 109.78.201.165 (talk) 23:54, 5 January 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Most of this edit changing the Infobox [5] should be reverted, but manually copying the Infobox from an older version will probably be necessary. -- 109.78.201.165 (talk) 00:00, 6 January 2022 (UTC)[reply]
The old version of the Infobox should be restored to how it was before. At the very least, the five main films that are the most important thing about this franchise should be listed in the Infobox. -- 109.79.172.124 (talk) 22:29, 3 February 2022 (UTC)[reply]

In the Infobox media franchise under the "films" parameter please replace X "List of films" with Y:

Reason (see above)

WP:INFOBOX is not a table of contents, do not link within same page. -- 109.79.176.100 (talk
)

 Not done for now: please establish a consensus for this alteration before using the edit semi-protected template. The fact that no one has changed this back in the two and a half months since you first objected shows there is consensus for the current version. ScottishFinnishRadish (talk) 16:42, 27 March 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Wikipedia is not on a deadline. Silence is not a consensus.
WP:STATUSQUO restored. If editors want to ignore the guidelines they should establish local consensus and make their case. Of all the things to list in the Infobox of a film franchise the films themselves would seem to be the most essential items to include. -- 109.79.176.100 (talk) 16:54, 27 March 2022 (UTC)[reply
]
The lack of response to my earlier request (and me being in no rush to file a formal edit request using the template) does not indicate anything other than the fact that is article doesn't get much attention at all. The proposal to split the video games section (see above) has gone almost entirely ignored since June 2021, even by the person who proposed it. -- 109.76.131.25 (talk) 11:35, 28 March 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Editors seem to either not know or deliberately ignore the
WP:INFOBOX guidelines but the burden should be on them to gain consensus if they want to ignore such reasonable guidelines. TLDR: The films of the franchise should be listed in the Infobox. -- 109.78.199.198 (talk) 00:54, 24 April 2022 (UTC)[reply
]
Done, agreed the infobox should list not significant number Indagate (talk) 06:34, 24 April 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Thank you for your edit Indagate.[6] Closing edit request as Done and answered. Listing the main films that make up the film franchise seems like the bare minimum of what a film franchise Infobox should do. -- 109.77.207.247 (talk) 04:30, 25 April 2022 (UTC)[reply]

The Ice Age Adventures of Buck Wild

Does The Ice Age Adventures of Buck Wild count as a spinoff?--WERcndwsk12 (talk) 19:37, 14 January 2022 (UTC)[reply]

@WERcndwsk12: No. It's more of a stand-alone sequel. Maybe. I mean, Manny, Sid, Diego, and Ellie are in the movie, but as supporting characters. ZX2006XZ (talk) 20:14, 14 January 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Edit request

The second mention of Simon Pegg in the 'Cast' section does not have an embedded Wikipedia link to his Wikipedia page — Preceding unsigned comment added by Neodoestuff (talkcontribs) 19:58, 20 January 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Some editors have different opinions about duplicate links WP:DL and how many times the same person should be linked in the same article but I think most editors would think it is enough to link Simon Pegg only once in the Cast table, and not to link his name again in the very same row. -- 109.79.172.124 (talk) 22:33, 3 February 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Ice Age No Time For Nuts 4D

This is an experience like Ice Age Dawn of the Dinosaurs The 4D Experience but longer as the OG short film making it an extended version I would assume. And I wanted to ask if we should add it here? (the same with Ice Age 3 4D Expierence in a section called ==4D experiences== or something like that) and add it to the cast table Derjenigederzukunftseht (talk) 09:26, 17 April 2022 (UTC)[reply]
