Suggestion

Perhaps the local pages should be deleted and this one kept rather than the other way around. This is the parent article which was deleted. So I recreated the old page and think the other pages should be deleted instead. It is the old page minus the picture and it is not a copy from a different website, the one in the different website is a copy from wikipedia.

You should not have recreated the page. The agreement at the recent afd was that it be deleted. Sherlock Holmes Fan (talk) 02:00, 17 December 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Appeal

  • This is all deeply incomprehensible to me. There was a long discussion on the deletion review page (which has now disappeared). As far as I could see there was a more or less general consensus that the article should be reinstated on the basis of following Wikipedia guidelines for verifiability and notability: I believe that the version I posted did this, citing three independent sources including a book that has two chapters devoted to the subject, and after receiving no answer on the deletion review page to my request for advice. Now it has been deleted again - by Sherlock Holmes Fan: under what authority? And who decides on this kind of thing?--Jens1917 (talk) 10:19, 15 January 2012 (UTC)[reply]
I feel Sherlock Holmes Fan acted a bit impetuously and if they still feel the page should be deleted - in terms of Wikipedia policy rather than their personal anti-communist view they should have retained the material with the tag and directed people to the discussion at Wikipedia:Deletion review/Log/2011 December 23 The decision will eventually be made by consensus. If editors experience problems working with each other there are procedures for both mediation and arbitration. However let's hope that matters can be dealt with without the need to give other people more work.Leutha (talk) 11:57, 15 January 2012 (UTC)[reply]
The drv discussion has been concluded, and the result was to overturn the deletion and reinstate the article. I accept that outcome and shall not nominate the article for deletion again. However, I will do everything in my power to stop people sympathetic to the ICC from inserting their propaganda into this article. I have just removed a really blatant example of such propaganda from the article ("More recently, the ICC's participation in the UK students' movement has been (inaccurately) denounced by the Daily Mail").
