According to the book "Queers in History" by Keith Stern, "James Harding, in his 1986 biography of Agate, described him as "the archetypal 'man about town', wit, spendthrift, HOMOSEXUAL, eccentric, gossip-monger". Callelinea (talk) 17:38, 9 August 2010 (UTC)[reply]
