Complete list of works

A list of works was posted in this edit [1]. It should be merged with the list in the article. --M.Marangio 23:14, 20 February 2007 (UTC) Quoting:[reply]

Note to Wikipedia editors: When this is in the "edit" mode, the list below acts like it is bulleted, with all years / books having their own line. But when the list is saved and looked back up again, it is one long stream of writing from left margin to right. Is there any way to "bullet" the list so the year of each book is listed on the left and each book has its own line?

Note to Wikipedia editors: Information is from my personal collection of all the titles listed above. Most of this information can be verified in the Something About the Authors reference series - watch out, though, as they're wrong in a few places. Also, there is a listing of George's books in the biography about her by Alice Cary and on Jean's website - www.jeancraigheadgeorge.com/ , though neither has a totally comprehensive list.

Upcoming Jean Craighead George books, as listed on amazon.com:

  • September 2005 - Crowbar (not yet available as of Dec. 2005)
  • May 2006 - Luck (picture book illustrated by Wendell Minor)
  • June 2006 - Galapagos George

Removed omnibus edition I had originally included, as suggested above. Also added two posthumously published titles (one to be released later this year) and corrected the year to 2014 for two other posthumously published titles. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 2602:304:B078:810:F53F:4F77:702A:789D (talk) 14:32, 25 November 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Sick Making

Unencyclopedic?

Does anybody else find this article to be a little cutesy? I think it was written by a massive fan or family member. I'm going to have a go at re-writing it, to make it read more like an encyclopaedia entry. 124.169.15.110 (talk) 08:07, 10 February 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Works

Revisiting the troubled #Complete List of works" six years later. -P64

Please shorten lengthy repetitive entries.

  • Omnibus editions --delete or relegate to Notes
  • Series titles --abbreviate (at least after first use) or relegate to Notes
  • "illustrated by author Jean George" --use "self-illustrated" or use "illus. by JG" or another such device

--P64 (talk) 23:56, 10 February 2013 (UTC)[reply]

According to the homepage Jean Craighead George, "Jean's website will continue to be updated. She continued to work up to the very last, as she had always wished. Check back ... new works from Jean are forthcoming!"

Husband and daughter

John L. George

One obituary gives "John Lothur", LC catalog gives "John Lothar". The article follows both sources as they are used.

The 10 listings comprise eight titles, six written by John L. and Jean, illustrated by Jean (1948-1956); two credited to John L. alone (1957, 1971). --P64 (talk) 21:55, 17 July 2013 (UTC)[reply]

John L. is "John Lothar George" at Google books and the Pennsylvania Center for the Study of the Book[2], as well as LC Authorities (and thus WorldCat). --P64 (talk) 23:42, 22 July 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Twig C. George

Beside the Pocket Guide credited to Jean and three other Georges, the 5 listings comprise two Florida animal stories (A dolphin named Bob; Swimming with sharks) and two picture books (Jellies; Seahorses), those four dated 1996 to 2003. --P64 (talk) 21:55, 17 July 2013 (UTC)[reply]

New Photo

Hello people, I added a photo of Jean that I took some years ago. I meant to leave the article intact and insert or append the photo, but I seemed to have replaced the main photo instead. This was not my intention, and I’m not sure how to get the old one back! My apologies for this- I am a novice editor of Wikipedia. I will try and retrieve the old one.
