One Year Anniversary

RIP Mad Dog. This week is one year since your passing. I went to the tribute/memorial they held at the stadium for you. Maddog I did not know you. I dont know firsthand what kind of person you were. I listened to you on the radio. You seemed like a nice guy. Perhaps one of those rare individuals a person can only be lucky enough to know. I know Ive had friends and acquaintances that I wish were the caliber of person, that people say you were. If your old teammates had that special quality that you had, they would have had a meet and greet after the April 2011 tribute at the stadium. I left that memorial feeling like an outsider looking in. I can't turn the clock back twenty years and become a football player. It would have been nice for your old teammates to let the public turn out of 1200 to 1,600 come onto the field for some sort of meet and greet. I look back at my life thus far, and I dont have the wealth of memories of events and places. But you leave me with one thing, Maddog. That phrase of yours, when you gave out the phone number to call into the show, "If you're riding around with the windows down." Sometimes I was riding around with the windows down. Theres a lot of meaning in that phrase, Maddog. I think maybe you understood your listeners. You understood our lives. So I salute you, Maddog!!!!! I dont know if your old buddies from the 72 team really gave a rats ass that I came out to the tribute at the stadium, but still, I salute you sir!
