First wife

The Journalism section of the article states that he had been married to someone else before Nigella; does anyone know anything about that? Did he have any children other than the daughter and son with Nigella? P Cezanne (talk) 20:04, 15 December 2008 (UTC)[reply]

ohn Diamond was born in 1953 in Hackney, east London. His father was a biochemist specialising in cancer research, and his mother a clothes designer. After leaving school, he trained as a drama teacher, and spent four years at Dalston Mount girls' school, an experience he did not particularly enjoy, though it was there he met and married his first wife, Anne-Marie, a dance teacher working at a nearby school. After getting a job on a property newsletter, he, as he put it, "blagged" his way into journalism, freelancing for the Sunday Times.
