He's stated publicly that he's not willing to hire white actors in leading roles. I think that warrants a mention: ‘I don’t see myself casting a white dude as the lead in my movie,’ Peele said. ‘Not that I don’t like white dudes. But I’ve seen that movie before.’ 2601:647:4F00:7D:759F:F82D:BA46:97F9 (talk) 22:59, 12 July 2020 (UTC)[reply]
Is it any more racist than Tim Burton saying he strongly doesn’t believe in having “diverse” casts? When his films are known for almost exclusively featuring white actors for the “aesthetic”? Trillfendi (talk) 23:40, 12 July 2020 (UTC)[reply]
A black director casting only black leads is not "racism". It's called "inclusion". He's
righting great wrongs, which he can do in Hollywood, as long as he doesn't do it on Wikipedia. – Muboshgu (talk) 01:20, 13 July 2020 (UTC)[reply
It's a complicated issue, and though I wouldn't call Peele's decision inclusion I certainly wouldn't call it racism either. If he wants to just tell black stories to redress the balance at this time in Hollywood history, that's his decision and it's not tangible racism. Unless there's evidence of controversy, I don't think it's worthy of mention. And I think we've got consensus, that it isn't racism. YouCanDoBetter (talk) 01:36, 13 July 2020 (UTC)[reply]
Either way, it's not relevant. The IP is just venting here, forum posting; nothing will go in the article unless it's rigorously verified. Drmies (talk) 01:38, 13 July 2020 (UTC)[reply]
Barack Obama's deep fake ?
I am finding articles about Peele impersonating Obama in a deep-fake video illustrating the danger of this technology. Are they correct ? That "Stay woke b*tches" would deserve a mention for historical purposes. 193.80.116.137 (talk) 05:01, 17 August 2022 (UTC)[reply]
