Alvin, Texas?

Is there even a Karpeles Manuscript Library Museum in Alvin, Texas? The article formerly said:

Karpeles Manuscript Library in Alvin, Texas is located in the old First Methodist Church building at 800 West Sidnor St., about a 30-minute drive from Houston. As of December, 2012, its opening date had not been announced.

while their website (http://www.rain.org/~karpeles/alvfrm.html; "rain.org" appears to be a website hosting service) gives an address and shows a picture, but then says

Museum Opening early 2015. Hours of Operation: Tuesday-Friday 11:00 am - 4:00 pm.

Well early 2015 is behind us now, and the phone number given is out of service. This latter, especially, makes me doubt that this is a live operation, and so I have removed the Alvin, Texas entry from the list. Herostratus (talk) 19:27, 27 September 2016 (UTC)[reply]

I do not know if this applies to all Karpeles Manuscript Library Museums, but at least the one in Florida has tax-exempt status.

Splitting proposal

I propose that the sections Library locations and Former locations be

split into List of Karpeles Manuscript Library Museums since that's basically what they are. - Relinus (talk) 14:52, 16 June 2023 (UTC)[reply
