A fact from Libri Carolini appeared on Wikipedia's Main Page in the Did you know column on 3 June 2006. The text of the entry was as follows: Did you know... that the Caroline Books were a harsh argument against the Second Council of Nicaea in 787, commissioned by Charlemagne and sent to Pope Adrian I? He apparently did not accept that art had any advantages over books, a view not held by many of his advisers.

Could somebody please translate this sentence to English? (Oh the irony, article about the book based on a bad translation, is completely incomprehensible, badly translated from French?) Ceplm (talk) 09:28, 4 July 2018 (UTC)[reply]
