Hitler Youth banner/flag not shown here

just a few minutes into the 2013 film The Book Thief (film) (and several more times later), a Nazi flag (or banner?) is shown hanging in (the context of a children's school) where the black swastika is on a square/diamond of white, rather than a circle of white. Instead of a plain field of red in the background, there is a white stripe down the middle. I'd never seen this before, and it's not on this page. Is it historically accurate? 68.173.49.156 (talk) 03:54, 24 November 2014 (UTC)[reply]

War ensign of Germany (1938-1945)

The Kriegsmarine, Heer, Luftwaffe flag [War ensign of Germany (1938-1945)] is the æsthetically superior. It is graphically correct as a flag (others look better but as paintings). Non Nazis try to diminish that fact. Gamers like it. I am lethally anti-Nazi if you ask.

I agree strongly with this sentiment sir especially the centerpiece

Terminology

Germany has nowadays no "war ensign" (Kriegsflagge)! There is a flag used by the armed defence forces, even in the state of war. But it isn't named so!
