Flags of administrative regions

Are any of these flags (Thessaly, North Aegean, Western Greece, etc) in any way official? Are they actually flown anywhere? It seems that some of these are logos pulled from the region websites without having any official flag status. Can anyone clarify this or provide sources?82.75.120.144 (talk) 14:30, 30 April 2016 (UTC)[reply]

I clarify that I 've seen the most of these flags in many places, but I don't know if there are official or not. There is also a flag for ionian islands region. https://el.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Αρχείο:ΠΕΡΙΦΕΡΕΙΑ-ΙΟΝΙΩΝ-ΝΗΣΩΝ.png A. Katechis Mpourtoulis (talk) 00:56, 4 March 2018 (UTC)[reply]

The flag of

Greek Macedonia should be added somewhere in this article. -- Himasaram 11:22, 29 August 2006 (UTC)[reply

I believe this flag has no official status.

Perhaps, but it is widely used. At least de facto, it is in official use and widely recognized as such. Constantine 14:28, 9 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Flag of Attica

Is there a reference for this Flag of Attica?

I know only of a flag for the City of Athens, introduced by a previous Mayor (Mr. Avramopoulos), which seems to slowly fade out of use. For example it does not exist at their web site, http://www.cityofathens.gr/. That flag is of similar design and also contains the central part of the emblem of the city: el:Image:Athens_seal.jpg Sv1xv (talk) 08:27, 1 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]

A picture of the Flag of Athens is available here: http://www.crwflags.com/fotw/images/g/gr-athen.gif. Sv1xv (talk) 08:32, 1 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]

I know when I was in Athens, I saw the flag of Athens on display on the perimeter of the Temple of Olympian Zeus. El Greco(talk) 22:24, 1 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Ensign of the Hellenic Air Force and Greek Civil Air Ensign

I believe the Ensign of the Hellenic Air Force and Greek Civil Air Ensign is no longer in use and has been replaced by the National Flag. If someone can confirm this, it should be moved to Historical Flags. Sv1xv (talk) 18:31, 2 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Flag of the Hellenic Coast Guard

I have noticed that sometimes patrol vessels of the Hellenic Coast Guard fly a special flag, in addition to the Greek Ensign. This is the best picture I could find and is dated 2007. Could somebody produce an SVG or PNG design of this flag?

You should ask User:Dragases. He's done several nice Greek and Byzantine flags. Cheers, Constantine 14:16, 18 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Reference not up to date

The web site http://www.flaggenlexikon.de/fgriech.htm , which is listed as a reference, is not up to date. It shows the greek flags as they were before the 1978/1980 reform. Sv1xv (talk) 09:19, 19 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Time of adopting Greek Macedonia Flag

I wrote on another article which had the same mistake. The flag was adopted like unofficial/official in Greece in February 1993. Quotation from Vergina Sun Article "The flag of the Greek region of Macedonia, designated as an official national symbol by the Hellenic Parliament since February 1993."

There is no source (at least i found none except Wikipedia) that says that the flag was adopted in the 1980s. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Daci92 (talkcontribs) 20:55, 29 May 2011 (UTC)[reply]

South Aegean

The flag of the Periphery of the South Aegean is indeed based on the logo, but this is no reason to remove it. It can be seen flying here, here and very clearly here, all in front of the Periphery's main headquarters. --

OK then, mea culpa :). Good work in finding this. Constantine 00:58, 21 July 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Presidential standard

Do we have any source about the presidential standard? Is there any law about this variant of the national emblem? Dimboukas (talk) 23:44, 8 February 2012 (UTC)[reply]
