I'm reading a book at the mo where Schell describes himself as Swiss (but born in Vienna, moved to Switzerland when he was 8). Any objections to changing it? Ranger Steve (talk) 11:35, 10 December 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Given that this is a living person biography, I've made the change. I think his saying it directly is better than the current ref. Source "I'm Swiss, but I was born in Austria", quoted in:

I saw a production in Vienna in which Schell somewhat improbably played the part of Henry Higgins in My Fair Lady. I read later somewhere that the play "bombed" and that Schell brought a lawsuit against the producer, arguing that he should never have been cast in it. Can anyone shed any further light on this? I have read online (here http://www.lettersofnote.com/2010/01/but-he-never-calls-me.html ) that Schell wrote an open letter to the Hollywood Reporter in 1993 in open support of Michael Jackson during the first accusations of child abuse. I deleted the personal life section which was unsourced, except for a claim with no page numbers. Citation needed had been present for more than two yearsCatherinejarvis (talk) 18:04, 12 January 2013 (UTC) - - - - I've noticed that a number of sources indicate that he is divorced from Natalya Andreychenko. Among these sources are the mini Google bio and Wikipedia itself, under her bio. It's kinda funny that this bio lists them as married and her bio lists them as divorced. Yes, they are indeed divorced. I am not sure if it happened in 2005 but I am 100% sure it happened. Today in the local news channel for Vienna, he was seen with his new girlfriend, and eventually future wife (they will marry). This can only be logically possible if he was divorced already. To whomever moderates this article, I want you to know that I made a minor change in this section. It was previously noted at the end of the paragraph that he played "the father in the science fiction thriller Deep Impact." How it was worded stated that there was only one father in the film when in actuality there were at least three. You may be forgetting about the fathers of the two teens played by Leelee Sobieski and Elijah Wood. So I changed it from "the father" to "a father". The article currently contains the following sentence:

In Schell's private life, he was an accomplished pianist and conductor, performing with Claudio Abbado and Leonard Bernstein, and with orchestras in Berlin and Vienna.

From this are we to conclude that Schell and Bernstein had private concerts with a full orchestra, in their backyards? I think that the intent of this may be quite beautiful (is it heralding Schell's amazing versatility of talent?), but as written it makes no sense. Unschool 03:11, 12 January 2018 (UTC)[reply]
