Electoral affiliation, 1987
The Irish Election Literature Blog post from 2011 (reference 9 at this time) states that Fahy was a candidate for Independent Fianna Fáil. This is backed up by Kenny and Keane, Irish Politics Now (1987) which states in addition (p. 168) that "Neil Blaney turned up for the launching of his campaign"—although the authors, not for the only time in the book, mis-spell the candidate's name. I suggest that this might be enough to go against the Elections Ireland designation of Fahy at that time as "Independent". Harfarhs (talk) 19:23, 23 October 2017 (UTC)
