http://sport.scotsman.com/heartofmidlothianfc/Saturday-Interview-Michael-Stewart-happy.6357844.jp says Stewart was never at Royal Antwerp despite reports saying otherwise? Pspeed (talk) 18:44, 7 October 2010 (UTC)
- There is a BBC article from when he was on trial with Rangers citing a spell at Antwerp. Jmorrison230582 (talk) 18:53, 7 October 2010 (UTC)
- Can you find any evidence he was ever there? Teamlines, match reports anything? I've tried to look for something but can't find anything. I think the fact that preceeding an interview with Stewart by the scotsman wikipedia was mocked for claiming it says something Pspeed (talk) 19:05, 11 October 2010 (UTC)
- It looks like from this 2003 source that a loan deal was agreed between United and Antwerp for Stewart and two other players (John O'Shea and Jimmy Davis). Stewart went over there but decided against the move to stay in training with United. That is corroborated by the fact he played three times for United late in the 2000–01 season, when he was supposedly with Antwerp [1]. I will remove the Antwerp loan and mention the circumstances in the article text. Jmorrison230582 (talk) 20:28, 11 October 2010 (UTC)
- FWIW, The Scotsman has a cheek mocking wiki for mentioning this phantom loan spell, given that their sister newspaper did it six weeks earlier [2]. Jmorrison230582 (talk) 20:57, 11 October 2010 (UTC)
