I've extended this to hopefully reflect his importance to UK comics and long history more, and provide a bibliog, which isn't easy to find in long-out of print fanzines. De-stubbed and removed the 'citations needed' notification now there's a fair sprinkling of the little devils - about all there are, I think.

Can't find a ref for who the article in Speakeasy was written by as I don't have it in any of the earlier issues. And I've left out some of the titles Anglo may have edited for lack of certain reference. I'm sure they'll get filled in gradually. I've also tried to siphon off the detail of the Marvelman/Marvel problems so as not to tip the article too far into simply a Marvelman one, thinking that kind of detail really belongs on the Marvelman page. However, with the recent Marvel announcements about imminent Marvelman projects, I didn't think that could be ignored, as it is substantially directly about Anglo (and whoopee, perhaps at last I'll get to read the 50s stuff without selling the family - how I wish I'd spent my pocket money on the heaps of Marvelmans in Woolworths all those years ago).

Now it would be nice to have a photo - there's one at http://www.alanmooresenhordocaos.hpg.ig.com.br/artigos97.htm (which has copying rights info) but I haven't the faintest how to do this. There's a better b/w one somewhere in the links also, but I haven't had time to check back through to find it. Anyone? Cheers! Archiveangel (talk) 23:26, 31 March 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Marvelman stories

Love this article, lovely stuff, might need a slight update as it seems most of the good work was done some time ago. However - ""over 1,000 issues of Marvelman"; however, there were 346 issues each of Marvelman and Young Marvelman and 30 issues of Marvelman Family between 1954 and 1960, plus 14 annuals in the same period before Miller went to reprints after Anglo left the title, making 736 issues in all." I feel this can't really be counted accurately without a complete index of MM/YM/MF. We don't know exactly what percentage of issues were reprints, which had 3, 2 or 1 MM/YM strips, how we should count annuals, etc - or even how much of it Anglo actually wrote seeing as YM Classic V2 credits Leo Rawlings with at least one script even early on. It's not a thousand - bless him, George Khoury doesn't know the first thing about the Miller material - but quoting it as a solid 736 strikes me as both flawed and basically unnecessary in response to one ill-informed interview question.
