Mina Loy was born Mina Lowy not Lowry. I know this because my grandmother was her sister. This is just sloppy.

Checked the sources, fixed it. The given sources are in English, though, and may have been equally sloppy about the diacritics. In other places in the article, the name is given as Löwy; shouldn't it be the same here, too? --Ehitaja (talk) 15:19, 24 December 2021 (UTC)[reply]

What is the evidence that Loy had two children by Filipo Marinetti?

She had two kids in 1907 and 1908 [1], they could have been his, but I know of no evidence. Filiocht | The kettle's on 12:54, 13 December 2005 (UTC)[reply]
In Judith Thurman's normally very reliable bio of Colette, Secrets of the Flesh, she calls Loy a lesbian. It seems clear that she was attracted to men, but shouldn't the Thurman reference be acknowledged, especially as previous versions of this page link her to Barnes and Stein, admittedly without citing evidence. 188.29.228.151 (talk) 13:52, 4 July 2022 (UTC)[reply]
She didn't meet Marinetti until 1913.

As far as I know, Mina Loy was staunchly heterosexual. Who has "speculated" that she had a relationship with Stein?

I completely agree. In every piece of published, verified literature that I have read about Loy, she was a self proclaimed heterosexual. I deleted that part of the wikipedia page, because in my opinion, speculation doesn't belong on a biblography page. Loy associated with homosexuals, that doesn't make her one.

Stein's salon

Loy soon became a regular in the artistic and often lesbian community at Gertrude Stein's salon, where she met many of the leading avant garde artists and writers of the day, including novelist Djuna Barnes.

This seems off, or maybe just misplaced in the "Early Life" section. I'm not sure that the circle around Stein's salon was particularly lesbian during Loy's first stay in Paris, when Stein was still co-hosting the salon with her brother Leo (somewhat more so, I would have thought, after Alice B. Toklas moved in). In any case, Loy couldn't have met Djuna Barnes there at that time, since Barnes didn't move to Paris until 1920. They would more likely have met in New York, since they were both involved with the Provincetown Players around the same time.

I should be able to find a citation for when she met Barnes, but I'm not sure what the correct story is on when she started frequenting Stein's salon. —Celithemis 03:02, 4 September 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Quality

Please check your facts before editing this article. A lot of statements here--and in the past--have been nothing more than speculation. I just fixed a couple, but will be back to do more. Carolyn Burke's biography is a comprehensive source of information, and those without access to it should really not be adding things. L Glidewell 17:55, 18 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Well, I think it is a pretty good article so far. I would suggest a clearer indiciation of cited material and more references within the text as to where the sources are being used. The reference section contains a half-dozen or so sources that are not referenced in the article (so far as I can see), and I would love to know where each fact is coming from for verification. I don't think access to a single biography should be the ultimate criteria for inclusion in the discussion, and I do think that more sources should be listed and cited throughout the article. maybe the Billy Corgan song should be mentioned in the Trivia?15.203.169.107 (talk) 15:36, 27 December 2008 (UTC)[reply]

I second that. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 217.85.243.245 (talk) 12:13, 16 May 2010 (UTC)[reply]
