Suggested Change

I believe the words "creature-collecting, or simply Pokémon clone" should be removed from the first sentence.

The reason "creature-collecting" should be removed is that some monster-taming games have no collecting aspect.

Monster Taming games typically include at least 2 of these 3 things. (1) Directing or leading nonhuman beings to achieve a goal, (2) Raising nonhuman beings from one condition to a superior condition, and (3) Collecting nonhuman beings.

Creature collecting is a category that includes games like Zoo simulators, Aquarium games, and bug-catching games. There are even several games classified as creature collectors on the Steam gaming website that involve finding cats hiding in a room.

I understand that many "monster taming" games include creature collecting features but it is not a requirement of a monster taming game. The phrase "Pokemon clone" is a derogatory term that is placed on all other games within the monster-taming genre that are not actual Pokemon games. This would be a biased label. "Pokemon clone" is often used interchangeably with the phrase "Pokemon ripoff".

Separating the terms "monster taming" and "creature collector" is beneficial for both the game developers who list their games online and the players who seek specific games that fall in both or one of these 2 labels.
