Can anybody describe the design principles of Mess? And the history of it's development. In fact, this article is pretty barren apart from the list. I have marked it as a stub because, despite it's length, there is very little actual content. --HappyDog 17:31, 4 April 2007 (UTC)
- I have moved the list to List of systems supported by MESS. If this article is considered non-encyclopaedic then it could be deleted. It is not any less encyclopaedic to have it as a separate article though, and it is way to dominant a section if included here. --HappyDog 11:11, 11 May 2007 (UTC)

Reason for move.

- Like you said, the MESS (this page) both exist, and are separate articles. Although they differ in case, I do not thing that is unambiguous enough and can cause some confusion. MESS is open source

- MESS licensing is pretty odd. They claim to be using the MAME license, yet some of those terms would be contradicted by what they say on their "legal" page. I've removed the confusing comments about MESS not being open source, and re-written most of the licence section. I reverted the last revision as it is incorrect. David Haywood is not a member of mamedev and hasn't been for years. - David 'Haze' Haywood *IS* a member of mamedev. For a while he was not due to aforementioned behavior, but he once again is as of late 2012. MAME merge proposal

- Keep @Morn: I don't think the topic being defunct warrants that the articles need to be merged. Topic is distinct and large enough to have its own article, with the primary article making mention of and including a "main article" hatnote linking to the MESS article. The MESS article just needs to be edited to reflect past tense instead of present tense. DA1 (talk) 17:54, 20 September 2017 (UTC)
