As quoted from article statements: "Built over the burial site of Saint Olav, the king of Norway in the 11th century" and "Built into the south side of the ambulatory is a small well. A bucket could be lowered to draw up water drawn from the spring that originated from St. Olav's original burial place. (This was covered over by the construction of later cathedrals)."

Both statements appear dubious and unsourced. In the paper Arkeologi og myter: Om Nidarosdomens historie før 1200 (Archaeology and myths: The history of the Nidaros Cathedral before 1200) by Øystein Ekroll (in Hikuin, 33, Kirkearkæologi i Norden 8, Vestagder Norge 2004-2006,

The holy well (which was said to have sprung) at the supposed original burial place is still intact (according to the paper today it is a public fountain), but the well in the cathedral ('Olavsbrønnen') is much later, apparently made for the purpose, so as to live up to the supposed 'orginal death place of St. Olav' myth - who were really killed somewhere else in the vincity of the cathedral. Varg Vikernes was going to blow up the cathedral with 100kg of explosives. I'm just wondering if maybe this should be mentioned in the article. Esn 11:36, 10 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]

1) Varg is an idiot. 2) 100kgs wouldent have done it. 3) You should maybe go check out the cathedral. It's MASSIVE

I appreciate that this may be a bit late, but I came to this page from the article on Varg. Even if it would never have happened, maybe the plot is relevant?

Hello I'm wondering how high the Cathedral is, I cannot find it, no matter how much I search, I've been at norwiegean wiki(FA-class), swedish wiki, german wiki and the english one, where is this piece of information supposed to be? I believe, that wikipedia should give this sort of information(especially when it already states on the Uppsala Cathedral article clearly the height of the cathedral)

I'm sure the hordes of Asian tourists must have noticed it, I made sure the piss gathered in two enclaves close to the ground as much that it would have taken a few days for my urine to have evaporated. They should put some guards on this cathedral ... while I was pissing on it, people were "skating on it with bikes" in lack of better ways to express myself. While I hate christianity, this cathedral is a part of my cultural heritage, I wish they would have atleast a single guard patroling it.
