Likely successor to Putin?

Hasn't Patrushev been mentioned as the likely successor to Putin as the leader of Russia? 173.88.246.138 (talk) 02:29, 17 July 2021 (UTC)[reply]

I am not sure. Sources? But he definitely preach the same ideology [1]. My very best wishes (talk) 15:50, 24 May 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Link to the Russian apartment bombings, and specially the Ryzan Incident

I came across a GQ article around FSB, Putin, the Russian appartments bombing in 1999 (that served as purpopse for the second Chechen war), and Patrushev is mentioned : here the article: None Dare Call It a Conspiracy | GQ https://www.gq.com/story/moscow-bombings-mikhail-trepashkin-and-putin and Russian apartment bombings -

I agree this should be included. He was probably main person who orchestrated the bombings. The most relevant part in the source: The following morning, FSB director Patrushev appeared on television to report a wholly new version of events in Ryazan. Rather than an aborted terrorist attack, he explained, the incident at 14/16 Novosyolov Street had actually been an FSB "training exercise" to test the public's alertness. Further, he said, the sacks in the basement had contained not explosives, but rather common household sugar. But unfortunately, I had an extremely unpleasant experience with editing the "bombings" page in the past, and therefore would rather leave this to others. Russian "invasion" of Syria?

Greetings all, I am looking to open a discussion on a sentence in the lede where the 2015 Russian military intervention in Syria is implied to have been an invasion. I don't believe this characterization is very common in reliable sources. I'm certain there are a whole host of words that have been applied to the Russian activity in that country, but "invasion" is an unusual one given the nature of the events. Thanks, SaintPaulOfTarsus (talk) 23:04, 11 December 2023 (UTC)[reply]

The source does not even mention Syria. The relevant quote is: "We know Patrushev played a key role in the decision to seize, and then annex, Crimea in 2014 and then in the 2022 invasion. In those eight intervening years, his authority has steadily grown, and this has accelerated since February of last year." So this should be amended accordingly. Actually, this was added by a now-indeffed account. Mellk (talk) 23:43, 11 December 2023 (UTC)[reply]
