Gilbert Becaud, Jaques Brel, Charles Aznavour, Mireille Mathieu, Celine Dion, "Rolling Stones", Luciano Pavarotti, Julio Iglesias and many others. I don't think we need a list of so many artists, because the Olympia has been played by some many bands that such a list would be either incomplete or far too large. I vote for removing it and leaving only the text that was there before, that it is a popular concert venue for many national and international performers. Crculver 00:50, 28 Jan 2004 (UTC)

Agreed. Editing the selection to present the variety of acts that have performed there. --Madchester 07:18, July 13, 2005 (UTC)

Not all are the same...

I, on the otherhand do not agree, I found it useful to have a list of artists who have performed there in the past as it gave me an idea of what kind of venue the place is.

It would be shortened a little bit by removing Björk, who is mentioned two times. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 24.134.147.194 (talk) 19:30, 6 December 2012 (UTC)[reply]

International artists

This section is far too lengthy and clustered. Not every act that has performed there has to be in this article. If anyone feels very passionately about having such a list then create a separate "List of artists that performed at Olympia" or something like that. I'm trimming that section now. Olympia Bruno Coqatrix; name of article

Olympia Bruno Coquatrix
. I did this because the article has to bare the full name of the venue, wich is unwritten rule for wikipedia articles of music halls, venues etc. There are several examples:

  • Carnegie hall
is called after Andrew Carnegie, but it's article name didn't drop "Carnegie".
  • Sears Tower was renamed to Willis Tower after Sears company sold it, though it is an iconic name recogniued by whole world.

Also will we name article for "Anna Meares Velodrome" in Chandler, as "Velodrome (Chandler)" ??

"Olympia" is commonly known name only in English speaking countries. Whole Paris and all people that performed there, especially Dalida, always referred to it as Olympia Bruno Coqatrix... I think that this theme should be left to us, Parisians, to decide.
