Page move proposed

I propose the page is moved to Pūkaha / Mount Bruce National Wildlife Centre. Here are some supporting references:

Official Name from Linz: Pukaha / Mount Bruce National Wildlife Centre Reserve [1]

Rangitāne Tū Mai Rā (Wairarapa Tamaki nui-ā-Rua) Claims Settlement Act 2017 [2]

NZ Herald story: Pukaha handed back to Rangitāne [3]

100% Pure New Zealand [4]

Department of Conservation: Pūkaha National Wildlife Centre [5]

The article needs updating to include some of the content from these references, and I will offer to undertake this.

@Schwede66: Although I see that page moves like this sometimes attract comment, I think this one is not controversial. Can you please assist by arranging this move, and updating the links in articles that link here ? Changing the redirects is a bit beyond me at present.Marshelec (talk) 21:26, 17 April 2021 (UTC)[reply]

@Marshelec: Happy to help (and have temporarily watchlisted this page). I see that the official name does not have a macron, though. Can I suggest the macron-free version and then let LINZ catch up on this at some point? Schwede66 02:00, 18 April 2021 (UTC)[reply]
@Schwede66: Fair enough. When you have time, please go ahead with moving the page to: Pukaha / Mount Bruce National Wildlife Centre, and as you say, the macron on the u in Pukaha can be done at another time if/when the official name is updated to match the current usage by the organisation itself. I will then get underway with updating the content, including the handing over of the land to Rangitanē, as part of their Treaty of Waitangi Settlement. All done. Schwede66 08:24, 18 April 2021 (UTC)[reply]

The different reserves & their hectarages over time

The article says 942 ha was a Forest Reserve, with 55 ha of it also a Native Bird Reserve. Then in 2001 all 942 ha became wildlife reserve. Now, 57 ha is the Wildlife Centre Reserve and 891 ha is separately the Scenic Reserve, which totals 948 ha, so an additional 6 ha has been added at some stage. Unable to verify because much of this is unreferenced. Nurg (talk) 04:21, 16 October 2023 (UTC)[reply]
