The One and Only

Not Kray's goddaughter

Date of birth

  • I can't believe her date of birth is March 1968. She must be way older than that as she has been on television for an age.
  • Kensit's first tabloid-published relationship was with Spandau Ballet's Gary Kemp. At the time she was 12, he was 24. - surely not? 12??? That would make for a very dodgy relationship indeed. Of course, if she was actually older than she is telling everyone, then it wouldn't raise so many eyebrows. It's not unusual for actresses to shave a good few years off their age. I think the most easily accessible hint at her age is her appearance in The Great Gatsby, where she plays Daisy and Tom Buchanan's daughter, Pamela Buchanan. The film was released in 1974, so that should give a significant clue. 98.15.134.151 (talk) 06:57, 3 November 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Name change to Kensit Healy

Watching tonight's episode of Holby City confirmed that Kensit's name is now Patsy Kensit Healy. I've changed her full name as used at the top of the article and in the infobox, but I'm unsure if the article should be moved or if other uses of Kensit should be changed to Kensit Healy. Suggestions?

I'd say leave it where it is, since she's best known as just "Patsy Kensit" (see the similar discussion at Talk:Sarah Michelle Gellar). Besides, given her record, I doubt she'll be Healy for long. Bradley0110 (talk) 12:22, 4 June 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Name and page move

I have moved this page back to Patsy Kensit, from Patsy Kensit Healy. The previous move was suggested a while back, but no definite agreement reached. It is usual for article to be titled according to the name the person is best and most widely known as. This is the case with Kensit, "Healy" is a recent addition that is not widely known. Breast augmentation - question

Her breast augmentation took her from a 32B to a 35C ?? This means she had 3 inches added to her chest (ribcage) and only a minor addition to her actual breasts.... One of two children born to James Henry and Margaret Rose Kensit (née Doohan) who came from Ireland, Kensit has an older brother Jamie.[1] Her mother (1947-93)[1] was a publicist, and her father (1915-87)[1] was an associate of the notorious London gangsters the Kray twins.[2] Nicknamed "Jimmy the Dip",[1] he was also reportedly an associate of the rival Richardsons,[1] running long firms for the gang. He served time in prison before Kensit was born, she believed he was an antiques dealer.[1][3] Her paternal grandfather was a robber and counterfeiter,[4] and her brother's godfather was Reggie Kray.[5]

1. Patsy’s older brother Jamie appeared on camera in the programme. He brought with him a sheaf of family documents and photographs.

2. Among those photographs one showed Jamie in infancy dressed for baptism and in his mother;s arms. As godfather, Reggie Kray appeared alongside. The godmother was also in the picture, but not named.

3. Other documents found by researchers and shown on camera gave Patsy’s father’s police and court records. He was jailed for a variety of criminal offences. This happened before Patsy was born. She believed her father was an antique dealer because he was, in fact, an antique dealer when she knew him.

4. A photograph presented on camera showed Patsy’s father riding in some vehicle alongside one of the Richardson brothers in evident intimacy. The Richardsons headed a notoriously cruel criminal gang and were known as “The Torture Gang”. The programme presented a letter from an unnamed person who had been tortured by the Richardsons while Kensit senior “looked on in helpless horror.” A historian on the programme said that Kensit had been a remarkable criminal due to his smooth ways. One of his most remarkable achievements was being on close terms with both the Kray brothers and the Richardson brothers, who were violent rivals. [The Richardso used to nail victims to floors, and then cut off their toes, origin of the famous "bolt-cutters" threat of common speech.]

5. Again on the programme, a historian presented violence that Kensits grandfather and greatgrandfather also had criminal records, but not for violent offences.

6. It might be better to clarify the origin of Patsy’s parents. He father came from a family resident in London for sevenm or eight known generations. It was her mother who came from Ireland.

"Super-bitch" Is there a better way to word this?

"In 2004, Kensit joined the cast of soap opera Emmerdale as Sadie King and also regularly featured in the third series of Channel 4's Bo' Selecta! and its 2005 spin-off series A Bear's Tail. Kensit's success as the soap super-bitch and in a popular comedy brought her back to the public's attention."

Is there another way to word this? While I'm not opposed to swearing, this line reads like it was written by an amateur, and doesn't come off as objective.
