A fact from Popular Front of Moldova appeared on Wikipedia's Main Page in the Did you know column on 12 April 2008, and was viewed approximately 821 times (disclaimer) (check views). The text of the entry was as follows:
Did you know... that in 1989, the Popular Front of Moldova was initially backed by a range of ethnic groups, but quickly lost support from Russian speakers and Gagauz?
Actually, you added it yourself... --Illythr (talk) 17:03, 10 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Some of it, yes - I'd forgotten, as it was in the lead, where sources are less necessary if repeated and sourced in the body. Thanks; I'll see how I can reformulate. Biruitorul (talk) 04:17, 11 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]
A little inconsistency
After Dc76 added that other source, the titular citizens of Moldova (:-P) are now matter-of-factly referred to as both "ethnic Moldovans" and "ethnic Romanians" in the text. I'm going to leave that part alone and let you guys sort it out (gleeful giggle). --Illythr (talk) 10:07, 11 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]
I thought about that too; we have two instances of "Romanians", which could pose a problem. On the other hand, it's from the Library of Congress, which I doubt has a bias in either direction. So I wouldn't vigorously object to "Moldovans", but won't presently alter "ethnic Romanians" either. (And note too that "ethnic Romanians" is less, shall we say, "Frontist" than simply "Romanians", which would imply no difference at all.) Biruitorul (talk) 16:15, 11 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]
