Correct season numbering?

When the sequence of episodes stop in the spring and new ones started in the autmn, who decided that they are just a continuation of the same season, rather than start as a new one?

For instance Epguides.com and tv.com does not count in the way it is listed on wikipedia, wikipedias list says its 5 seasons - while the other sites says its 10 seasons.

This is a very annoying discrepancy. I could change it of course, but not if someone is going to put it back 30 seconds later. --IceHunter (talk) 19:40, 31 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]

RE:

I think we should leave it as it is. BillMaher.com counts the seasons exactly in the same way Wikipedia does:

Transcript

We could add a link, for each episode, to the transcript in maher's homepage.--194.185.249.130 (talk) 10:20, 14 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Carlin was to be guest on strike-canceled episode

On the June 23, 2008 broadcast of Larry King Live, Maher confirmed that George Carlin was to be one of the guests on the broadcast for November 9. Carlin was not rescheduled for the next new episode due to his schedule. This is confirmed in the CNN transcript for the broadcast of Larry King Live, which is here. I've added this and the source to the article. Doc StrangeMailboxLogbook 14:47, 29 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Why is this separated?

Why are seasons 1-5 separated out from the other seasons? There doesn't seem to be any rhyme or reason behind is.
