I came here after listening to Baum's wonderful Great Courses audio, which I was evaluating for student use. There are accurate China watchers and witty China watchers, but an accurate, witty China watcher like Baum is rare. The names endorsing his last book on Amazon's website include the biggest in the business. People will come here, as I did, after enjoying his tape. I preview tapes like Baum's as I drive to school. There were times when I sat in the car after getting there, still listening to one of his great stories. And it would be about an era or incident I knew so well, and had even written about, but Baum made it new. I guess a stub has to start somewhere, but the current one doesn't scratch the surface about Baum's reputation or significance from 1960-2012. He wrote so much, and was so widely reviewed, that neutral POV material should be easy to find.Profhum (talk) 12:47, 14 March 2015 (UTC)[reply]
